We were childless for a night out in the city ! My grandma was kind enough to look after our little bubba whilst my husband and I got out for a much needed night out.
When you haven’t been out in a while it becomes so hard to choose where to go !! We wanted somewhere that had nice food and we both hadn’t been before. We were tempted to go back to Rockpool, but after much deliberation decided on a place that was a bit less fancy. We chose to go to Red Spice Road, which we had both heard such great things about.
It didn’t disappoint.
Well… not really… Melbourne has had some pretty lovely days lately. Seeing as it’s now April, winter is definitely on its way and with it, it will hopefully bring an array of warm and comforting food.
Beef stroganoff is one of my favourites ! Served with either rice or pasta, you can’t really go wrong.
Here is my father in law’s recipe, simple and can easily be made on a weeknight. This recipe will serve four and also freezes well.
So since Shrove Tuesday, I have been craving pancakes. Before becoming pregnant, I never used to really like anything sweet and was most definitely more of a savoury girl. Even though I still prefer savoury food, I’m finding that I do have the random craving for something sweet more often now.
I got this recipe from my husband’s grandma and I am pretty sure she sourced it from Nigella and as we all know, Nigella never disappoints !
I love carbs ! Combined with meat, I’m a happy girl!
This recipe I came across through a friend on Taste.com
This weekend, I spent some time with my sister and grandma. We went to my cousin’s husbands cafe.
Little by little.
My cousin and her husband are both such an inspiration. Both did their respective university degrees, but have both since left the corporate world to pursue their passions in food and fashion. One has opened her own clothing boutique down on the Mornington Peninsula (Aurelia Boutique – Facebook), and her husband has more recently opened his cafe in Berwick.
Being an Accountant, at lot of the time its difficult to stay inspired and passionate at work. After all, stereotypically, accountants are “boring” and “have no personality”. This is definitely not me !! haha. I love my job and enjoy work, however, good food and cooking just make me happy to the point where it never feels like a chore.
One day, I hope I too am brave enough to be able to pursue, whether it be a career, or something I do on the side, within food.
For now, I will just continue to eat good food, in good company until that time comes…
Sirloin Steak Burger
Little by Little
This is a great weeknight recipe, and much healthier than a takeaway pizza.
