We are so lucky to be able to just get away for the weekend and escape the hustle and bustle of every day life whenever we need a break.
I’m the type of person who always over commits and packs as much as I can into a weekend, even if it means that I end up more tired rather than rejuvenated. I feel like this is something I need to stop doing to ensure that I have enough time for myself, Matt and Miss Bean when she finally arrives… Definitely something I will need to work on sooner rather than later.
Matt’s Dad lives in Venus Bay so we are lucky to be able to go somewhere, still be with family, and get to feel like we are on holidays. I find it really hard to relax and usually only do so when I’m forced.
Since being pregnant, Matt has made it his mission to ensure that I take time out after work to put my feet up. He essentially sent me to out room the other night and said you need to stay here without your phone, relax, and focus on resting. I found it surprisingly difficult to lie there and do nothing, but I think it is important to take time out for health and wellbeing purposes. We often focus on how much there is to be done, and how busy we are, that we forget to be appreciative for what we do have.
This weekend has been great to recoup and recover from a busy couple of weeks at work. Not only did we get to relax and spend time with family, but we are also so lucky that Matt’s dad has a passion for cooking ! Not really any scenic photos of the beautiful beaches that Venus Bay has to offer, but like I said, we literally did NOTHNG, which was GREAT.
We got to enjoy a Japanese inspired feast;
- Miso Soup
- Mini Okonomiyaki
- Katsu Chicken Curry
